Johannesburg, Feb.8 (ANI):Chelsea skipper John Terry, who had earlier announced that he would leave the club at the end of the season, has expressed his desire to extend his contract with the Premier League champions.
Terry’s comments came following his side 1-1 draw against Manchester United in their league clash at Stamford Bridge.
The 35-year-old defender, who made 698 appearances for his side since his debut in 1998, said that he did not have any communication with the club yet about the new deal, but insited that he wanted to continue with the club.
Terry, however, admitted that the most important thing at the moment was to bring Chelsea back on track, Sport24 reported.
Chelsea are currently languishing down to the 13th spot in standings, with just seven wins from 25 games which they have played.
The Guus Hiddink-led side will now play against Newcastle on February 13. (ANI)
