Outrage of a particular community over “objectionable words” uttered by a lead actor in a film has made the Haryana government to ban a Hindi movie for eight weeks pending further orders.
The film in question is The Legend of Michael Mishra in which the lead actor Arshad Warsi in a particular scene utters “objectionable words” which have the potential to outrage the religious feelings of the Valmiki community. The film, produced by Kishore Arora and directed by Munish Jha, was slated to release on August 5.
A spokesman said certain organisations and individuals were protesting against the exhibition of the film. A committee made up of government officials has recommended it was essential to take necessary action to stop the release of the film as it could cause communal violence and damages to public and private property and a serious law and order situation.
Punjab government had also banned the screening of the film. – CINEWS
