‘Daas Dev’ is a upcoming political thriller movie in which Dev is not a loser but a person who takes control of his life.
He gets addicted to drugs and alcohol and eventually becomes hungry for power.
Whether Dev manages to rid himself of these addictions and how Paro and Chandramukhi figure in his already convoluted life forms the crux of the story.
The movie features Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Deep Raj Rana and Dalip Tahil in pivotal roles, along with special appearances by Anurag Kashyap and Vineet Singh.
The cast and crew of the movie, including the lead actors, Rahul Bhat, Richa Chadha and Aditi Rao Hydari, played hosts on the occasion along with the film’s producer, Sanjeev Kumar, and presenter Gaurav Sharma.
In the occasion of trailer launch the director of the film Sudhir Mishra’s teacher veteran filmmaker Saeed Mirza, Rahul Rawail, Ketan Mehta, Prakash Jha, Satish Kaushik, Pankaj Parashar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Imtiaz Ali, Nikhil Advani, Umesh Shukla, Vijay Krishna Acharya, Kunal Kohli, Anubhav Sinha, Abhishek Kapoor, Mudassar Aziz, Ruchi Narain, Avinash Das, Ashoke Pandit, Ashwini Choudhary and Ajay Bahl talked about their association with Sudhir Mishra and their excitement about ‘Daas Dev’.
About the film, director says, “I acknowledge the fact that the three characters are Sarat babu’s. However, when we started writing the film, Shakespeare started messing around with my head and it became a film about the lust for power and how it obstructs love. Then Paro escaped from the haveli and started confronting Dev and Chandramukhi.”
“Though she’s a manipulator, she retained her love for Dev. In a way, the film became a reverse journey from Das to Dev. This is the plot of Daas Dev and a glimpse of that can be seen in the trailer,” he added.
