Kolkata, Oct 2 (IANS) Three people, two of them women, have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a traffic sergeant when their car was stopped for checking, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place at around 12 midnight near the Park Street-Camac Street crossing.
According to police, Adhiraj Mukherjee and his wife allegedly stopped Sandip Roy, the sergeant on duty, from running a routine check on their car and also tried to manhandle him.

Police from south traffic guard rushed to the spot and arrested the three accused.

This is the second incident of misbehaviour with police officers within a month. Four men and two women were arrested for beating up civic volunteers in West Bengal’s coastal tourist spot, Mandarmani in East Midnapore district.
The three accused have been slapped with charges of assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty under Section 353 of the Indian Penal Code and offence committed in presence of an abettor (Section 114).
