Tehri (Uttarakhand), Oct. 19 (ANI): Three people were killed and 29 injured on Monday after the minibus they were travelling in from Uttarkashi to Srinagar Garhwal fell into a 200-metre-deep gorge at Kirtinagar block of Tehri district in Uttarakhand.
There were 32 people travelling in the mini bus, which met with the accident 23 km from Srinagar.
Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel swung into action after answering a call, and launched rescue operation with the help of locals. The injured were shifted to Government Medical College, Srinagar. Though two victims were killed on the spot, the third was killed on his way to the hospital.
The medical college principal said 32 people were admitted to the hospital, of them three were brought dead.
Tehri District Magistrate Jyoti Khairwal said, “Two people were killed, while around 18 injured. The injured have been shifted to the Srinagar medical College. It is not confirmed that how many people were travelling in the bus.” (ANI)
