Three Tamil films have been victims of online piracy.
According to reports Remo, Rekka and Devi have been leaked online and available for illegal downloads on a couple of websites.
This is bound to affect the box office collections of the three new releases.
All three movies, released on Friday, made it to the websites hours after it opened in theatres.
As per the trade experts, the leaks will have some impact at the box office as people would like to see them free.
The makers of Remo had taken a lot of initiative to prevent piracy. The production house had campaigned to encourage people not to entertain piracy before its release. It had also requested people to report them if they come across any piracy by e-mailing them the links.
Remo, the romantic comedy has been directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and include Sivakarthikeyan, Keerthi Suresh, Sathish in main role. The movie is about a man who disguises as a nurse and a reviewer says it looks like copy of Hollywood block buster Tootsie.
Devi is directed by Vijay with Prabhu Deva, Tamannaah, Sonu Sood, RJ Balaji. It is about a woman who transforms into someone else after marriage.
Rekka directed by and with Rathinashiva Vijay Sethupathi, Lakshmi Menon, Satish, Harish Uththaman in the cast is about a man kidnapping a minister’s daughter to ensure a family wedding goes off smoothly.– CINEWS
