‘Reptile Dysfunction’, a video which sometimes draw laughs from the viewers about actress Tisca Chopra’s experience of a casting couch, has gone viral. “It’s gone viral. Thanks, people,” tweeted Chopra.
In a YouTube session with creative collective Kommune, Chopra says her first film -1993’s Platform- ‘vanished without a trace and soon after, her dates diary looked like a barren desert.’
Chopra went on a break to Goa. And just when she was wondering whether she would ever get any work at all, she received a call from “a very, very famous producer and director.” In the video, Chopra refers to the filmmaker as “RP or Reptile” and says that he asked her to meet him for an apparently “extravagant film.”
After seeing Chopra, RP told her, “You need to learn how to walk in heels. You need a manicure and you need to do a spa for your hair. And you need to learn how to ooze.”
Chopra admits that she took RP’s words seriously, adding that her friends were delighted to hear that she would star in this ‘extravagant film’ though some who knew about the past escapades of the director expressed their concern. Chopra, however, says at that time the offer was too good to miss.
