Top ISIS commander killed in drone strike in Afghanistan

London, July 9 (ANI): A third top Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) commander has reportedly been killed in a drone strike in eastern Afghanistan, the country’s intelligence and police officials have said.

The slain leader, Shahidullah Shahid, who was a former Pakistan Taliban member who defected to the ISIS, used several aliases, reported the BBC.

He was the most prominent in a group of fighters who appeared in a video released in January and believed to have been shot in Pakistan, pledging allegiance to the self-styled Islamic State.

However, no independent confirmation of his death has been received.

At least two other members of the group are also believed to have been killed in drone strikes. (ANI)
