Toronto man guilty in juvenile prostitution case

A 47-year-old man from the City of Toronto has been found guilty of several offences in connection with a juvenile prostitution investigation.

On Thursday, April 29, 2016, , Salvatore Badali, 47, of Toronto, was found guilty of Living on the Avails of a Juvenile Prostitute, Obtaining the Services of a Juvenile Prostitute and Procuring a Person to Become a Prostitute. He has been sentenced to 34 months imprisonment by the Ontario Superior Court Honourable Justice Glass.

On Monday, July 30, 2012, officers began an investigation after obtaining information that a 16-year-old female was employed at Blue Pearl Spa, a massage parlour located on Dufferin Street near Wilson Avenue, in the City of Toronto.

The spa owner Salvatore Badali was arrested and charged on Friday, August 3, 2012.

Individuals committing sexual acts for money are often victims of crime through violence, threats of violence, coercion and trickery.
