Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), July 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that his visit to Turkmenistan has been memorable, as he departed for Bishkek city in Kyrgyzstan.

Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to share his experience.

“This visit to Turkmenistan has been memorable. We have achieved substantial progress in deepening cooperation between our nations,” he posted.

Prime Minister Modi unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Ashgabat earlier today.

He also visited the mausoleum of the first president of Turkmenistan, Saparmur, at Niyazov.

Prime Minister Modi, who issued a joint statement with Turkmenistan today, proposed that Turkmenistan becomes a member of the International North South Transport Corridor.

The Prime Minister, who arrived here yesterday on the fourth leg of his Central Asian tour, was earlier in the day accorded a ceremonial welcome by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the Oguzkhan Palace in Ashgabat.
