Brampton, April 29 (CINEWS): The Mini Moo Farm at Chinguacousy Park has welcomed two baby alpacas in the past few weeks, the park has announced.
Elsa, whose black and white colouring resembles a tuxedo, was born on March 30 to mother Kalee. Her half-sister Anna was born to mom Leeta on April 18.
Both crias (baby alpacas) weighed in at a healthy 15.4 pounds soon after their birth. Visitors are welcome daily between 12-4 pm to walk through the barn, see the animals and speak to the animal attendants. The alpacas are not the only babies in the barn – Bantam, Cochin and Silkie chicks (baby chickens) are also on display.
Starting Victoria Day weekend (May 21), the Mini Moo Farm will be open daily from 12-8 pm. The Petting Zoo and pony rides will also open that weekend, with extended hours over the summer. Petting Zoo and Pony Rides May 21- June 26 – Saturdays and Sundays 12-5 pm , July and August – Daily 12-5 pm
In addition to alpacas and chickens, the Mini Moo Farm is home to goats, sheep, ponies, donkeys, peafowl, rabbits and pigs. Chinguacousy Park offers a variety of other fun activities for families, including mini golf, paddle boats, tropical gardens, greenhouse, playground and splash pad, starting May 21.
