Two nabbed in connection with a rash of Brampton robberies

robberyIn  a 24-hour period on July 18.  two men from Brampton  indulged in a rash of robberies at several gas stations in the city. Their robbery run, however, ran out the same day, with  officers from 22 Division and Central Robbery Bureau of the Peel Regional Police  hunting them down.

During the 24-hour time frame, the culprits approached  various gas stations in the Brampton area:

  1. 12:25 am 9 Bovaird Drive.
  2. 1:30 am 354A Queen Street West
  3. 1:40 am 121 Kennedy Road North
  4. 8:50 pm 7995 Kennedy Road South
  5. 9:00 pm 7995 Dixie Road
  6. 10:45 pm 27 McMurchy Avenue North
  7. 11:20 pm 200 Sandalwood Parkway

In each case, one culprit entered the kiosk, brandished an edged weapon and made a demand for cash.  The other culprit, who was operating a “taxi”, waited outside to facilitate their escape.   One of the gas station attendants, a66 year old man from Brampton, sustained minor injuries during the course of one of the robberies.

The alleged criminals have been named as Ronald Leisander, a 26 year old man of no fixed address and Peter Cambell a 27 year old man from Brampton. Both  have each been charged with seven counts of Robbery.
