Uber says Brisbane attack could be part of ‘coordinated assault’ on its drivers

Sydney, Oct. 6 (ANI): Ride sharing company Uber has expressed concern over the recent attack in Brisbane, the latest in a string of violent incidents, could be part of a coordinated assault on its drivers.

According to news.com.au, a group of men set upon the two drivers as they sat in their cars at Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley and River Terrace in Kangaroo Point.

Both drivers were punched and their cars damaged. One of the them had his mobile phone stolen.

Queensland Police said the men had also targeted another motorist who did not work for Uber.

Uber said it was “very concerned” about the attacks, adding that the safety of its drivers and passengers was a priority. (ANI)
