After buying $50 worth of popsicles from an 89-year-old paleta cart vendor, Joel Cervantes Macias posted a photo on Facebook that went viral. Macias then decided to do something to help the hard-working man retire and started a GoFundMe campaign.
Fidencio the paleta man’s story has now touched people across the world, and donors from 52 countries have raised over $330,000 so far.
A New Minivan for Raleigh, the Miniature Therapy Horse

Five years ago, Raleigh the miniature horse was rescued. Since then, he’s made over 500 visits to children overcoming severe trauma and other community members in need of animal therapy. Raleigh’s outreach came to a screeching halt when his minivan broke down in the Arizona heat.
Thanks to donors’ generosity, Raleigh can keep trotting to his visits with a repaired van and a new minibus on the way.
