Unnao rape victim to reach Delhi by 8 pm

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS) The Unnao rape victim will be airlifted from Lucknow and shifted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), here on Monday by around 8 p.m. The decision to airlift her was taken on the directions of the Supreme Court.

The Aeromed air ambulance along with Dr Rajender Singh, a doctor, and Mahender Singh, a paramedic, landed at the Lucknow airport at 6.20 p.m and is now on way to Delhi.

The victim’s lawyer, who is also in a critical condition, will be airlifted by midnight.

Dr Manish Aggarwal, Director of the Aeromed International Rescue Services, said the hospital was in talks with the Delhi Traffic Police to provide the ‘green corridor’ to shift her to AIIMS without any delay.
