‘Untold Story’ career high for Sushanth and Pandey

MS Dhoni’s biopic is a career-high for young actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story has become the fourth highest grossing Hindi film of 2016.

The biopic of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni has collected Rs 112.70 crores so far.

Since its competitor Mirzya, based on the popular Punjabi folktale, is not performing well, The Untold Story is expected to stay strong in its second week also.

The film is behind only Salman Khan-starrer Sultan (Rs 300.45 crores) and Akshay Kumar’s Airlift (Rs 128.1 crores) Housefull 3 and Rustom (Rs 127.49 crores).

MS Dhoni managed to collect Rs 60 crore in its first weekend. It also broke the record of highest openers at the box office this year.

The film has become a  career high for both Sushant Singh Rajput and director Neeraj Pandey.

A trade analyst shared, “#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory [Week 2] Fri 4.07 cr, Sat 5.20 cr, Sun 5.90 cr, Mon 3.40 cr. Total: ₹ 112.70 cr. India biz. Note: Hindi+Tamil+Telugu.”

The success of the film hasn’t come as a surprise to many. First of all, it was based on one of the most popular cricketers – Dhoni. People were curious to know the man behind brand Dhoni. To the credit of filmmakers, they have been able to find out an actor who could portray Dhoni on screen with complete honesty. – CINEWS
