US dollar declines against most major currencies

New York, Aug 16 (IANS) The US dollar slipped against most major currencies on Monday as recent downbeat economic data from the country dented market expectation for an interest-rate hike soon.

In late New York trading, the euro rose to $1.1185 from $1.1171 in the previous session, while the dollar bought 101.23 Japanese yen, higher than 101.14 yen in the previous session, Xinhua news agency reported.
