Uttarakhand speaker’s decisions were politically motivated, alleges BJP

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Mar.29 (ANI): Hailing the Nainital High Court’s decision to order a floor test in the Uttarakhand State Assembly, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its president Ajay Bhatt on Tuesday said decisions taken by Uttarakhand Speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal were politically motivated.

Bhatt told ANI that the high court has clarified one thing that Kunjal took decisions to fulfill his vested interests.

“The High Court has clarified one thing that the MLA’s which were disqualified were removed from their post by the speaker (Kunjal) to satisfy his own political interest,” Bhatt said.

“The court has said that the nine MLA’s which were disqualified will also participate in the floor test which will take place on 31st march,” he added.

In a major relief for the Congress in the state, the Nainital High Court on Tuesday allowed a floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly on March 31 and the nine suspended rebel MLAs have been allowed to take part.

Meanwhile, President’s rule has been stayed in the state.

The Centre dismissed the Congress government and imposed President’s rule in the state citing breakdown of governance.

Former chief minister Harish Rawat had earlier termed it as a ‘murder of democracy’. (ANI)
