Van hits pedestrian in Markham; police seek witnesses

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses after a serious pedestrian collision in the City of Markham.

On Thursday, October 13, 2016, at just after 7 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a serious collision involving a pedestrian on Woodbine Avenue north of Steeles Avenue. When officers arrived they located an injured 34-year-old female from Toronto, who had been struck by a Toyota Sienna.

The injured female was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police are being asked to please come forward.
