Mumbai, Dec. 31 (ANI): Test captain Virat Kohli has been named as the Cricketer of the Year by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for which he will be given the Polly Umrigar Award for 2015 on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old batting prodigy led India to their first series win on Sri Lankan soil after 22 years before defeating world number Test side South Africa 3-0 in the recently concluded series.
Meanwhile, former wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani has been nominated for the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
Karnataka State Cricket Association has been chosen as the state association of the year for achieving the treble of winning the Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and ijay Hazare Trophy in the 2014-15 season. (ANI)
