New Delhi, July 7 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said the government is doing whatever it can in connection with the Vyapam scam, and added that the required inquiry must be conducted.
“The basic thing to remember, we have a list of 2,000 accused. Who made them the accused? It is the action taken by the Madhya Pradesh Government which has brought so many people into the list of accused. So, the government is doing whatever it can, whatever it should. Equally important, we have already said that whatever inquiry is required, should be conducted,” BJP spokesperson M J Akbar told ANI.
“Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that, Rajnath Singh has said that. The Madhya Pradesh High Court is itself seized of the inquiry. There is no institution higher than the court,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Congress Party has been demanding a fair and transparent probe into the 2013 scam and the immediate removal of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from office.
The Supreme Court has also agreed to hear a petition against Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav to ensure a fair inquiry into the Vyapam scam.
The matter is scheduled to be heard on July 9. (ANI)
