Vyapam scam: ‘Will request HC to order CBI inquiry’, says MP CM Chouhan

Bhopal, July 7 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday said that he will request the high Court to order the CBI to conduct its inquiry into the Vyapam scam and added that he has complete faith in the judiciary.

“I respect the High Court and have full faith in it. Neither do I have any problem in the investigation. I have complete faith in the STF probe and the SIT was formed as well. I have no doubts on the kind of inquiry that will be conducted,” he told the media here.

‘I have full faith in judiciary but the recent events have led to an atmosphere that investigation should be done by the CBI. But the environment that has been created in recent days questions us. The state government cannot give the case to the CBI,” he added.

He further said that both Supreme Court and High Court have rejected the demand for CBI probe and the probe is presently being monitored by the High Court.

“The questions that have been raised must be addressed. I believe that some doubts have been raised in the minds of people as well. I am a very sensitive person, each and every death is very unfortunate. Baseless allegations have been put on me. Congress doesn’t care about Vyapam, they only cared about targeting me,” he added.

The minister further claimed that the Congress had indulged in baseless allegations against him and that their accusations were merely to spoil his reputation.

“I am satisfied with the inquiry so far but it is essential to respect people’s sentiments. So, I request for a CBI inquiry. I am writing to the High Court, requesting for a CBI investigation into the matter,” he added. (ANI)
