Another model-turned actress Waluscha de Sousa says the value of putting ‘hundred per cent’ to the film was something she borrowed from her co-star Shah Rukh Khan while working with him in “Fan”.
Waluscha made her debut in the Maneesh Sharma-directed drama-thriller opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
“When shooting a TV commercial Shah Rukh is completely different from a movie set because he is so much into his character. What I learnt from being around him on a movie set is that you take your work extremely seriously,” Waluscha said.
“But Shah Rukh is still humble. Dedication, humility take you a long way. To sink in a character is a very important lesson I have learnt from him,” she added.
“Fan” featured the 50-year-old actor in a double role, that of a superstar and a common man. Though the film garnered critical acclaim, it did not become a box office.
Waluscha, however, says the team went against the tide to come out with a film which was unconventional by Bollywood standards. “Everybody knew right from the get-go that we are doing a film that was different. Kudos to Maneesh to release a film which has absolutely no song and dance in it. It takes a lot of courage to do that.”
“Also, because Shah Rukh is a romantic hero, everybody expected a lot of love in the film as well. But you saw Shah Rukh in a very different way than what he has been presented as in the past. It is a huge achievement in every sense of the word,” she added.
Waluscha recently bagged ‘World Consulting and Research Corp’ awards as the most promising debutante this year for her performance in “Fan”. The actress says she is happy with the recognition and feels now the bar has been set very high. “My life has changed drastically after ‘Fan’. I have been meeting producers and directors. I have also signed something which I can talk about next month. The award at this point is really encouraging.” – CINEWS
