Warrant issued for 35-year-old in trafficking case

Darren Jordan – warrant for arrest

A warrant of arrest has been issued for Darren Jordan,a 35 year old male from Brampton in connection with  a Human Trafficking investigation covering Brampton and throughout the Greater Toronto Area.

In July, 2013, a female victim contacted Peel Regional Police and said that a male had coerced her into prostitution and had her work throughout the GTA.  The victim earned a large sum of money during the time she worked as a prostitute under the control of the male.  The male was physically and emotionally abusive to the victim and threatened to kill her if she attempted to leave the sex trade.

In July, 2013, Peel Regional Police arrested Darren Jordan. He was charged with the following offences: Procuring a Person to Become a Prostitute, Living on Avails of Prostitution, Exercising Control Over a Person to Aid Them in Engaging in Prostitution, Trafficking in Persons, Receiving Benefit Resulting From Trafficking in Persons, Assault x 4, Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.

On May 9, 2016, Darren Jordan failed to appear for his Superior Court trial and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest

Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in determining Jordan’s whereabouts. If seen, please do not approach and call police immediately.
