Murshidabad (West Bengal), Mar.12 (ANI): The Farakka Thermal Power Plant, located in West Bengal’s Murshidabad District, has shut down due to abysmally low level of water in its feeder canal.

The National Thermal Power Corporation has been therefore forced to shut down five units of its power plant at Farakka.

The shut down to the five units, which together have a combined generating capacity of 1600 MW, is likely to affect West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and industry in the Eastern Region. (ANI)
