Six special events in Toronto this weekend will involve road closures, as detailed below. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy these events. Businesses in the areas affected are open to pedestrian traffic but some roads will be closed to vehicles.

Family Fun Fit, Kids of Steel Triathlon (bike race)
The westbound lanes of Kingston Road from Danforth Avenue to Birchmount Road will be closed on Saturday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the cycling portion of the triathlon.

Dundas West Fest
Dundas Street from Lansdowne Avenue to Roxton Road will be closed in both directions on Saturday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. for Dundas West Fest.

Ride to Conquer Cancer
The westbound lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard between Strachan Avenue and Windermere Avenue will be closed on Saturday, June 11 from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. for the Ride to Conquer Cancer. In addition, a series of lane closures will take place in the area bounded by Burnhampthorpe Road in the north, the West Mall in the west, Kipling Avenue in the east and Lake Shore Boulevard in the south to accommodate the event.

Shoppers Run for Women
A series of road and lane closures will take place during the Shoppers Run for Women event on Saturday, June 11 from 7 to 11 a.m. in the area bounded by Spadina Avenue in the west, Bloor Street in the north, Bay Street in the east and College Street in the south.

Portugal Day
Lansdowne Avenue from Bloor Street to College Street will be closed in both directions on Sunday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for Portugal Day activities. Dufferin Street is a possible alternative route for motorists.

Toronto Challenge Run
Wellington Street from John Street to University Avenue will be closed in both directions on Sunday, June 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the Toronto Challenge. Access will be available to the parking garages on Wellington Street West. There will also be a variety of road closures during the event in the area bounded by Wellington Street in the south, John Street in the west, Wellesley Street in the north and Bay Street to the east. – CINEWS
