London, July 7 (ANI): The World Health Organisation does not have the ‘capacity and culture’ to tackle global health emergencies, the chairman of a new independent report on Ebola has said.
Dame Barbara Stocking noted that the agency had ‘failed’ in handling the deadly disease outbreak, which killed over 11,000 people in West Africa, reported the BBC.
However, she also added that WHO alone could not be blamed as the whole humanitarian system lacked foresight.
Meanwhile, the WHO has delineated plans for reform, admitting it was too slow in responding to the deadly Ebola outbreak that began in 2013. (ANI)
