Why Abhishek introduced Jaipur Pink Panther to Bachchan clan?

New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Apart from being an actor, Abhishek Bachchan has been quite involved in sports. He owns a kabaddi team called ‘Jaipur Pink Panther’ in Pro Kabbadi League, which is on its way to the third season.

However, during its first season, the opening match for the team Jaipur Pink Panther was not that great, and the reason was revealed by Abhishek at a press conference here.

“We were just about to begin the first season of the Pro Kabaddi League and were confident. However, the moment boys started the game, U Mumba trashed us. When we finished, I went up to Navneet (Captain of Jaipur Pink Panther) to ask what happened. The answer I got was, ‘Sir, we have never seen Amit ji in real and next to him was Sachin Tendulkar”. I was taken aback with their innocence. They were so overwhelmed. So, after the match, the first thing that I did was to make them meet my family, and then they didn’t lose any game. So, the first season was literally introducing these gladiators to a world where they were children,” said Abhishek to media here.

The 39-year-old actor continued that during the entire first league, he had to take up the role of a journalist for his team members to get them acquainted with media, the kind of questions they would have to face and the way they need to answer those questions.

He added that his dream is to shift focus of the media from him to his and other kabaddi players who are participating in the league.

Abhishek is confident that his team’s defence has improved as compared to the last season and even the threat of having ‘no backup’ has been taken care of. (ANI)
