Why Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat’s ‘Bangistan’ being postponed abruptly?

Mumbai, July 24 (CINEWS) The Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat film, ‘Bangistan’ is making headlines for many reasons. Although ‘Bangistan’ is banned in Pakistan, it has also hit the news for getting postponed abruptly.

The Karan Anshuman directed film has been pushed ahead. Originally, it was scheduled to release on July 31st, 2015, but now it will hit the screens on 7th August. Riteish Deshmukh confirmed this saying, “Bangistan Now Releases On 7th August,” on a micro-blogging site.

Of course, there are reasons which must have induced the makers to take such an impromptu decision. Firstly, S. S. Rajamouli’s blockbuster, ‘Baahubali’ and Salman Khan starrer super hit film, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ are still doing well at the box office. Audiences still can’t get over these two movies.

Further, ‘Bangistan’ was earlier pitted against Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer DRISHYAM, as both the films were set to release on the same day- July 31st. Also the buzz around Nishikanth Kamat’s ‘Drishyam’ is pretty upbeat. In such scenario, it would have only affected the business of ‘Bangistan.’ So, it was a better to idea to the move the release date. The new date is Aug 7th, which would be beneficial for the actors.

Jacqueline Fernandez has a brief role and the movie is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.
