Why Sunny Deol feels we require a Censor Board !

In the recent past, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made headlines, thanks to its tussle with the makers of ‘Udta Punjab’. While many filmmakers have been questioning the role of the CBFC, Sunny Deol feels we need a Censor Board.sunny-deol-twitter

In an interview to a daily, the ‘Ghayal’ actor said that if there was no Censor Board, people will misuse the freedom. But he quickly added that the board must only certify films and not ban them.

Interestingly, the release of Sunny’s ‘Mohalla Assi’ was initially stayed by a Delhi court in June last year for allegedly hurting religious sentiments, and the CBFC banned it in April this year.
The actor added that some people want to take advantage of the situation by banning a film when it is ready for release or file a case against it and the CBFC gets hyper because the members fear they will be pulled up for it.
