Filmmaker Karan Johar, breaking his silence over the banning of Pakistani actors in India, said that he will not work with actors across the border again.
Referring to the controversy around his film “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” the director released a video statement in which he said that “he will not engage with talent from Pakistan.”
Judging by all the threats and agitation by MNS and various other individuals the release of his ambitious film seems to have been jeopardized.
Things became tough when Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association boycotted the film fearing protests and damage to their properties. Amidst all this Karan Johar also met the Joint Commissioner of Police in Mumbai.
His two-minute video statement explains his stance on the issue. The clip shows how much the negativity is actually affecting him.The director explained why he didn’t issue any statements earlier and said that he is deeply hurt because of a few people who think that he is being anti-national.
“For me, my country comes first and nothing else matters to me but that. I have always felt that the best way to express my patriotism is through love and that is what I have tried to do with my films”.
The fan, whose name is Azad, through his Twitter account (which also has been named 1947 Azad), wrote, “@karanjohar film #gaydilhaimushkil is now in mushkil,” tagging the director. To this, Karan responded, “Sometimes it’s tweets like this that make you want to leave this platform….forever…”
Well, we truly do not want him to leave Twitter for sure.
Meanwhile, the director’s production house, Dharma Production, has released a few gifs from their upcoming and controversy driven film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. – CINEWS
