Winter session of Nepal Parliament prorogued

Kathmandu,Feb.17 (ANI): Nepal Parliament Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar has announced that the winter session of the Parliament will be prorogued today.

During the meeting today, Speaker Gharti informed lawmakers that President Bidya Devi Bhandari had concluded the session as per recommendation from Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli,reports The Himalayan Times.

The Winter Session had begun on October 2 last year after the promulgation of the new Constitution on September 20, 2015.

During this session, the nation had elected new President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker following the new Constitution

The first amendment to the Constitution was also endorsed during this session.

A total of 41 meetings were held during this session.(ANI)
