Witnesses sought in Aurora shooting; 4 injured

Investigators with the #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau of the York Regional Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward following a shooting in the Town of Aurora.

On Friday, July 1, 2016, shortly after 10 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a shooting at an event centre located on Industrial Parkway South near Vandorf Sideroad. Information from witnesses indicated that a fight broke out between individuals at the event.  Four victims have been located, three adult female victims and one adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses advised that the suspects fled the scene in a white Porsche which was located by uniform officers and AIR2.  Five male suspects in the vehicle have been arrested and the investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are also seeking to identify a male seen leaving the area. This individual or anyone who can identify him are asked to contact police. The public is advised not to approach this individual and to contact police immediately if he is seen.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses that may have not spoken with police yet, and any nearby businesses that may have video surveillance to please contact police.
