Ujjain, May 5 (IANS) A woman was killed when winds and heavy rains destroyed temporary structures built here at the Ardh Kumbh Mela visited by tens of thousands, an official said.

The official said 20 to 25 people were injured, at least three of them seriously. Some people were also feared trapped under the collapsed tents.

“All the injured have been rushed to the District Hospital,” IT and Transport Minister Bhoopendra Singh, also the incharge of Sinhastha Kumbh Mela, told IANS.

“The woman died apparently due to electrocution as snapped power lines fell on her due to the winds. The rains have now stopped and the situation is under control,” he added.
