Xavi disagrees with Mourinho’s brand of football

Barcelona, Dec. 28 (ANI): Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez has insisted that he respects Jose Mourinho but said that he doesn’t agree with the brand of football the Portuguese manager advocates.

Mourinho, who was sacked as the Chelsea manager last week, has claimed multiple league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal, in addition to guiding Porto and Inter to the Champions League glories.

“He (Mourinho) always wanted to win at any price and that shows in the way he goes about things,” Xavi was quoted as saying by goal.com.

“I respect that philosophy but winning at any cost means you can’t stay true to a playing style.

“For me, the means don’t always justify the ends.

“I have a lot of respect for him, he has achieved great things, but I see football in a different way to Mourinho,” the Spaniard added. (ANI)
