New Delhi, Mar. 22 (ANI): A young entrepreneur along with a group of contemporary artists aims to promote young upcoming talent and hitherto undiscovered maestros.
Jyoti Kalra, who owns an art group ‘UCHAAN’ and runs it with contemporary artists to promote upcoming talent in the field of painting, organized an exhibition titled ‘Rangmahal’ at Hauz Khas.
UCHAAN organises painting competitions, workshops and camps in a bid to bring art and people closer. They have sold over 100 works of budding painters in the past one year.
Kalra, believes that the profession of painting can be taken up as a career option because there exists a big market where paintings are sold at good prices.
She says painting can also be taken as a freelancing business as several orders for illustrations are also received.
“We have our own gallery where events are held regularly at different places to explore artists because my motive is to promote them,” she said.
“People are appreciating art and government is also getting aware and our artists are also painting on roads. There is a great scope in art as paintings are sold for lakhs and crores.”
“We arrange camp, workshops and live painting competitions, so that more people could understand the importance of art.” said Kalra.
Art provides a good platform and youth are also taking interest in it. Due to good purchasing power, business is also good. Paintings are also seen as making investments where a person purchases works of flourishing artists and their value multiplies after a few years.
“More and more youth are taking to the fields of painting, art and dancing and it’s a good platform. There are several opportunities for youth to show their creativity. There are ample opportunities when it comes to business as today’s youth have good purchasing power.” said Kamalnath, an artist.
A large number of people visited the exhibition and appreciated the works of the artists. Paintings depicting nature, religion and Indian culture especially grabbed people’s attention.
“I really liked this painting exhibition. Works of artist were great. I have come here with my friends and we all loved the paintings.” said Gaurav, a visitor.
The people appreciated the paintings and wished that such exhibitions should be organized on regular intervals. (ANI)
