23-year-old murders 4 members of his family in cold blood

Over the weekend, Markham was rattled with the news of four members of a family who were found dead in their homes. The dead were identified by friends as Malesa Zaman, her father Moniruz Zaman, mother Momtaz Zaman, and grandmother. Menhaz Zaman, a 23-year-old who has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder.

Menhaz Zaman allegedly sent his murder plans, as well as photos of the crime online to another player of the fantasy game Perfect World Void.

He posted that he had planned to murder for three years and that he was depressed because he was flunking at university.

“First mom, then granny, then sister and lastly dad,” he wrote.

His last post said, “the police are here, goodbye.”

Robin Islam, who called himself a long-time friend of the Zamans, said they moved to Canada from Bangladesh in the 80s, hoping for a better life. Moniruz Zaman and Momtaz Zaman were “very much” in love, he said, and recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with almost 200 friends and family last month.

Menhaz Zaman made a slide show for the party and “said nice things about his parents,” Islam said.

A woman who created an online fundraiser to raise money for the funeral costs also described what happened as “tragic.” -CINEWS
