Bollywood actress Mandakini rose to fame in the role of Ganga Singh in ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili, a 1985 movie directed by the legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor.
The actress quit showbiz in the year 1996. But now she is all set to make a comeback with a music video called ‘Maa O Maa’ and this comeback is even more special because she will be accompanied by her son Rabbil Thakur in the video.
Speaking about it to ETimes Mandakini said that ‘Maa O Maa’ was a very beautiful song and she fell in love with it the instant she heard it. She said the best part of the music video of the song was that her son was playing the lead. The video for the song will be directed by Sajan Aggarwal and the production for it will go on the floors next month.
Mandakini’s comeback was announced at a launch event in Mumbai on Tuesday, April 19. For the event, the actress showed up in a simply yet stunning yellow suit. The same day Mandakini took to her Instagram to share a poster of the song and captioned it, “Coming soon.”
Mandakini’s last big screen appearance was in the movie ‘Zordaar’. Besides this her acting repertoire includes movies like ‘Dance Dance’, ‘Ladaai’, ‘Naag Naagin’, ‘Kahaan Hai Kanoon’, ‘Pyar Karke Dekho’ and ‘Pyar Ke Naam Qurbaan’ among others.
Mandakini is married to a former Buddhist monk, Dr. Kagyur T. Rinpoche. Her husband was the most famous baby in all of India and was known as the ‘Murphy baby’ because he featured in the Murphy Radio advertisements in the 70s and 80s.
