For the last few weeks Abhishek Bachchan has been busy with the promotions for his OTT release, ‘Dasvi’.
In a surprise turn of events, Abhishek’s father, the legendary superstar actor Amitabh Bachchan has been very vocal and expressive with his praise for his son on social media.
Before this, Amitabh Bachchan has always maintained a certain reserve and would comment on his son’s profession and skills in a very objective manner, like a fellow member of the industry.
It has taken netizens by surprise to see this doting, proud father avatar of Amitabh Bachchan towards his son.
As is always the case with social media, there is always a section of the users who will react negatively and be sceptical or critical. Some trolls have questioned the megastar on Twitter about his excessive praise which they feel might be misplaced.
Usually, Amitabh Bachchan is a master at responding with grace and dignity. This time though his clapback to the trollers has taken everyone on social media by surprise.
On his Twitter handle, Amitabh Bachchan hit back at the trolls and responded saying, “जी हाँ हुज़ूर, मैं करता हूँ : बधाई, प्रचार, मंगलाचार !!! क्या कर लोगे ~?? (Yes sir, I do share congratulations, promotions, invocations!!! What will you do)?”
Amitabh Bachchan’s defiant stance has left many users speechless. Amitabh Bachchan has in the past commended Abhishek’s performances in movies.
But over the last month, it feels like an overpouring of adoration from the father towards his son. A couple of weeks earlier, he penned a heartfelt note to Abhishek in which he quoted his father, noted poet Harivanshrai Bachchan and called Abhishek his ‘Uttaradhikari’ (literally translates to successor)
In the note he said, “Mere bete, bete hone se tum mere uttradhikari nahi hoge. Jo mere uttradhikari honge, wo mere bete honge – Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek, tum mere uttradhikari hoge, bus keh diya to keh diya (My son, you will not be my heir just because you are my son. My heir will be my son – Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Abhishek, you will be my heir, I have said it.”
