According to an exclusive report on TOI, speculations are rife that King Khan, Shahrukh Khan and megastar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan could be coming together once again for third installment of ‘Don’.
According to a report on ETimes, credible sources have claimed that a collaboration between Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan for ‘Don 3’ is very likely.
The rumour gained traction when Big B recently shared a photograph of a large crowd wating outside a theatre right after his movie ‘Don’ released in 1978.
There have been rumours and speculations that a possible script for ‘Don 3’ is in the works. And as per ETimes, the producers of ‘Don’ and Don 2’ have confirmed that they are planning a sequel.
Given that the original ‘Don’ featured Amitabh Bachchan and the remake and its subsequent sequel featured Shahrukh Khan, ‘Don 3’ could be the movie that brings together both the ‘Dons’ sharing screen space once again.
Credible sources have told TOI that actor Ranveer Singh is also being considered for the casting of the movie but ideally as far as the makers are concerned the perfect pairing would be Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
Back in 2019, there were rumours that Shahrukh Khan wanted to bow out of ‘Don 3’ because he was more keen to be a part of the Rakesh Sharma biopic. However, that space adventure biopic movie has not materialised into a movie as yet, and nothing came of it in the last three years, so fans will be hoping that ‘Don 3’ is back on the list for Shahrukh Khan.
However, given that Shahrukh Khan has three movies currently under production, all set to release in 2023 and all big-ticket entertainers, it is unlikely that he will be able to give any time to the making of ‘Don 3’. Shahrukh’s big comeback movie, ‘Pathaan’ releases in January 2023; his next, Atlee’s ‘Jawan’ releases in June 2023 and finally his maiden collaboration with ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki’ releases in December 2023. So, Shahrukh Khan is clearly occupied until the later part of 2023.
Amitabh Bachchan too has a fair number of projects under his belt. After ‘Brahmastra’, he has ‘Project K’ with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone. He has also been signed on to essay the role of Robert De Niro in the Hindi remake of the popular Hollywood movie, ‘The Intern’. He is also part of Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’.
