Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after he was caught during a drug raid aboard a Mumbai-Goa cruise.
After months of investigation, finally Aryan Khan was given a clean chit by the court and since he is in the clear, Aryan Khan has now moved to Court requesting them to return his passport. He filed the application on Thursday, June 30.
Aryan Khan was accused of being involved in a drug case when the NCB department conducted a spot raid on a cruise going towards Goa. There were several high profile guests aboard the cruise. Aryan Khan along with a few friends of his were arrested and imprisoned and so during his detention his passport was also seized as part of the bail conditions.
Even though Aryan Khan was granted bail, he still had to stay in judicial custody for 20 days during which time his parents (Shahrukh and Gauri Khan) repeatedly kept applying for bail, only to have it rejected.
The NCB meanwhile continued their investigation and their investigation angle was to find out if Aryan Khan was part of a larger syndicate and if he was involved in some kind of distribution and trafficking controversy.
However, in the chargesheet that the NCB filed in May 2022, Aryan Khan’s name was not included. Later the NCB cleared Aryan Khan and five others citing insufficient evidence. Since, Aryan Khan has now received a clean chit, he has appealed to the court on Thursday, June 30, to return his passport. In response, the court has asked the NCB to file a reply before the next scheduled hearing which is set for July 13, 2022.
