Ayushmann Khurrana believes that stardom doesn’t exist any more.
The actor told a daily, “Rajesh Khanna, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have enjoyed stardom. But this stardom is not there anymore because actors are approachable. There’s no aura of mystery left. New actors join the industry every year and everyone has lot of work. There’s no nepotism. Models and TV actors join Bollywood. It’s a good thing.”
The actor knows what he is talking about.
Social media has brought the actors with superfluous prefixes attached to their names in the media, to our living room, we can ask them questions and if we don’t like them we can even troll them! That’s not what you call stardom!
As the Vicky Donor actor says the mysterious aura about the actors does not exist any more.
Ayushmann made his debut in Bollywood with Vicky Donor (2012), that won the National Award in the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment category.
Talking about pressure to deliver his best ever since, he adds: “Over the years, you build that equity when people say, ‘This guy does interesting stuff, be it music or films’…. It’s good to have pressure.”
Ayushmann is presently busy with ‘Manmarziyan’ and ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ and has a couple of exciting films. – CINEWS
