Lisbon, Dec 27 (IANS) Portuguese football club Boavista announced that it has acquired national team’s midfielder Rochinha from Belgium’s Standard Liege.
The 21-year-old went to Standard in 2015 after making his professional debut with the Benfica reserve squad, reports Efe.
Rochinha, known for his skill as a playmaker, has a contract with the Belgian club that runs until 2018. Boavista on Monday did not disclose whether the deal with Standard was a transfer or a loan.
The midfielder joins a Boavista team that currently sits in 10th place in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, with just 17 points from 15 matches.
Several clubs were interested in Rochinha, despite his lack of playing time in recent months.
