Brampton Transit announces service changes for September, school routes to resume

Effective Tuesday September 5, Brampton Transit will implement several service changes to ensure its system continues to move people around the city safely and effectively. The changes, which include the resumption of service on school routes, are indicated below.

501 Züm Queen

  • Weekday frequency adjusted to:
    • AM peak: 10/12 minutes
    • PM peak: 15/20 minutes
    • Midday: 12 minutes

501C Züm Queen

  • Route operates between Bramalea City Centre and York University via Hwy 407
  • Weekday frequency adjusted to:
    • AM peak:
      • Eastbound until 10:45am: 9 minutes
      • Westbound until 2:00pm: Approximately 30-36 minutes
    • Midday peak:
      • Eastbound until approximately 1:30pm: 15 minutes
      • Westbound until approximately 1:30pm: 30-36 minutes
      • Westbound from approximately 1:30 to 3:00pm: 15 minutes
    • PM peak:
      • Eastbound from approximately 1:30 to 7:00pm: 30-36 minutes
      • Westbound from 3:00 to 7:15pm: 9 minutes

502 Züm Main

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

3A McLaughlin

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

 4/4A Chinguacousy

  • Secondary and post-secondary extra school trips resume

5/5A Bovaird

  • Temporary routing via Kenview Boulevard, Finch Avenue and Darcel Avenue to Westwood Mall for Goreway Drive closure due to grade separation construction

6 James Potter

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

 7/7A Kennedy

  • Secondary school extra trips resume

 9 Vodden

  • Secondary school extra trips resume

 11D Steeles

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

  • Route extended to Mayfield Road and UPS Caledon
  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

 23 Sandalwood

  • Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

 25 Edenbrook

  • Routing extended to service Mayfield Road

26 Mount Pleasant

  • Routing realigned to service Clockwork Drive to Creditview Road
  • Weekday AM/PM peak frequency: 35 minutes
  • Saturday AM/PM peak frequency: 45 minutes

28 Remembrance (NEW Route Name)

  • Route 28 Wanless renamed to 28 Remembrance
  • Route realignment via Remembrance Drive
  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

29 Williams Parkway

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

 31 McVean

  • Routing realigned to service McVean Drive, Mayfield Road, Countryside Drive and Bloomsbury Drive
  • Squire Ellis Drive to be serviced by additional weekday and new Saturday and Sunday service on Route 50A Gore Road

32 Father Tobin

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability
  • Secondary school extras resume

 33 Peter Robertson

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

50A Gore Road

  • New weekday evening and Saturday/Sunday service to Mayfield Road and Squire Ellis Drive
  • Schedule frequency:
    • Weekday AM/PM peak: 35 minutes
    • Weekday midday: 35 minutes
    • Saturday and Sunday: 45 minutes

52 McMurchy

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

53 Ray Lawson

  • Routing updated via McLaughlin to Steeles
  • Eastbound trips: route will no longer enter Sheridan College and will service bus stops on McLaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue
  • Westbound trips continue to enter Sheridan College

54 County Court

  • Route will no longer enter Sheridan College and will service bus stops on McLaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue
  • Routing updated via McLaughlin Road to Steeles Avenue

55 Elbern Markell

  • Service extended to Flower City Community Centre
  • Weekday AM/PM peak and midday frequency adjusted to 55 minutes

57 Charolais

  • Secondary school extra trips resume

81 Mayfield West

  • Weekday schedules adjusted to improve service reliability

104 Chinguacousy Express

  • Routing extended to Chinguacousy Road and Sandalwood Parkway
  • Route no longer operates via Bovaird Drive to Mount Pleasant GO Station

199 UTM Express

  • Regular service resumes

200 Series Secondary School Specials

  • Routes resume Tuesday September 5
  • Schedule adjustments on some routes to match adjusted school bell times
