The woman killed in a collision between a car and transport truck in Brampton Monday, Dec. 5 has been identified as Nirmala Bhandari, 77, of Woodbridge.
Three family members, including a six-year-old girl, were also hurt, according to police, who are asking for witnesses or anyone with video footage to contact them.
Police said Diya Bhandari, 6, of Woodbridge suffered life-threatening injuries. She is now in serious but stable condition at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.
Two other women — Veena Bhandari, 52, and Neha Bhandari, 29 — are also in serious but stable condition.
Two men in the car suffered minor injuries.
The crash happened on Highway 50 at 7 a.m. when the family’s northbound black Hyundai Sonata turned left at Cottrelle Boulevard and collided with a southbound truck.
The Sonata then hit a black Acura that was stopped at the intersection, but the occupant of that car was not injured.
