‘Capsule Gill’: Akshay Kumar’s first look as Jaswant Singh Gill revealed

Akshay Kumar is once again returning to the big screen as a Sikh character but this time the movie is inspired from true events. Akshay will be playing the role of Jaswant Singh Gill in the movie, ‘Capsule Gill’ which chronicles the heroic acts of mining engineer Gill who saved several lives during a disastrous mining incident.

A recent photo from the sets of the movie, which shows Akshay Kumar dressed as a Sikh, turban and all, has been doing the rounds on social media.

This particular picture has been captured in the fields of Yorkshire which is where the movie is currently being shot.

As a matter of fact, most of the production of this movie is going to be shot in the United Kingdom. Besides, Akshay Kumar, the movie also stars Parineeti Chopra.

The movie is being produced by Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment and it is based on the real-life incident that occurred in Raniganj Coalfields in the year 1989. At the time, there was a mine collapse in Raniganj Coalfields and nearly 64 miners were trapped in the mines which is located in the state of West Bengal, India. It was Jaswant Singh Gill, the mining engineer who saved the lives of those miners without caring about the risk to his own life.

Akshay Kumar’s last release was the magnum opus period drama, ‘Samrat Prithviraj’. Much to the disappointment of the cast, crew and production house (YRF), the movie failed to make a good impression on the audience.

Akshay will be seen next in ‘Raksha Bandhan’ which releases in theatres on August 11, 2022. The movie has a release clash with Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.

Besides, ‘Capsule Gill’, Akshay Kumar also has ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Mission Cinderella’, ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan remake’, ‘Ikka’ as well as the remake of Tamil movie, ‘Soorarai Pottru’.
