Hollywood seems to be filled with plenty of famous actors who are called Chris – Chris Pine, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and Chris Pratt. Hemsworth, Evans and Pratt, three Chris’ have also been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in just about a week, Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt will reunite once again for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.
While that is quite a few Chris to deal with, Chris Pratt has surprised everyone with the revelation that even though his name is Chris, off camera, in his personal life, he doesn’t go by that name.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Chris Pratt recently made an appearance on SiriusXM’s ‘Spotlight with Jessica Shaw’. He was on the show to promote his Amazon Prime web series, ‘The Terminal List’ and during his chat, he mentioned that in his personal life no one actually calls him Chris.
Jessica Shaw then asked him if he was called by his last name Pratt and Chris said, “Yep. Pratt. CP. You know, CP. ‘Hey, CP.’ But no one calls me Chris. My friend, Chad. I went golfing with my friend, Chad, my pastor the other day and he was like, ‘No one calls you Chris? I’m gonna call you Chris. Alright, Chris. You’re up.’ And I was like, ‘No, it feels weird. It’s not my name. Don’t call me Chris.”
It is even more surprising that Chris Pratt said he does not like being called Chris and yet for so many years now, everyone in the media called him Chris only.
But this is a useful pointer, perhaps over the years, Pratt has gotten used to fans calling out ‘Chris’ to get his attention but now soon everyone will know that to get Chris Pratt’s attention he needs to be called CP or Pratt.
Of course, he will continue to be credited as Chris Pratt in the future as well and it is unlikely that his credits will reflect his preference.
On the work front, Chris Pratt, or CP, as he’d rather be called, is having a big year. He was recently seen in the finale of the Jurassic World franchise – ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’. Soon he will be back on the big screen reprising his role as Peter Quill aka Star Lord in Marvel’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’.
Then later in December 2022, Pratt’s Star Lord will come to the digital platform for ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
Finally in 2022, he will be a part of the third installment of the intergalactic franchise – ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy’ Besides his acting roles, Pratt has also been signed up to voice act in the ‘Mario’ and he is also on board to voice ‘Garfield’.
