Hollywood actors Chris Rock and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were both reportedly approached to host the Emmy Awards 2022 which will air on NBC in September 2022.

As reported by Deadline, Chris Rock has already been called over to host the Oscars next year given his raging popularity in the aftermath of the slap incident at Oscars 2022 when Will Smith got up on stage during the live event and slapped Chris Rock.

Chris Rock’s continued silence and dignity over the issue has won the hearts of many globally and so he is now the most sought after celebrity in Hollywood. Now, it seems the organisers of the Primetime Emmy awards also want Chris Rock to host the awards night.

Besides Rock, Dwayne Johnson was also approached to host the Emmys. As per reports, Johnson was on the Oscar host wish list for 2022 as well.

However, the report claims that Chris Rock who has hosted the Oscars twice, once in 2005 and once more in 2016 has apparently turned down the informal offer from the Emmys and Dwayne Johnson too does not seem too keen on it.

The producers of Emmy Hudlin Entertainment and Done+Dusted are aiming to bring in some massively popular hosts but reports state that talents from Peacock and NBC are also in contention as hosts for the awards.

Chris Rock and Dwayne Johnson have close ties with NBC. Chris Rock was originally a cast member of ‘Saturday Night Live’ and Dwayne Johnson serves as an executive producer for the NBC comedy show, ‘Young Rock’, which has been inspired from Johnson’s life and was recently renewed for the third season.
