CRPF trooper injured in Srinagar firing

Srinagar, Aug 5 (IANS) A CRPF trooper was injured when militants fired on a security checkpoint on the city outskirts on Saturday evening, police said. Firing was on in the area.

Militants fired at a security forces ‘naka’ at Nowhatta area, police said, adding the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was injured.

Firing exchanges between the security forces and militants are going on in the area, a police official said, adding that “reinforcements have been rushed to the spot”.
