Juhi Chawla’s daughter Jahnavi Mehta’s media appearances are usually limited only to IPL auctions. Last year she and Aryan Khan were spotted at the IPL auctions for the Kolkata Knight Riders team co-owned by their parents, Shahrukh Khan and Juhi Chawla.
This year too, Jahnavi Mehta was spotted at the IPL auctions with Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan. Unlike other star kids who are lighting up their social media feeds and making appearances at parties and gatherings, Jahnavi stays away from the limelight.
Recently, Juhi Chawla was interviewed by Bollywoodlife.com for her upcoming film ‘Sharmaji Namkeen’ where she stars alongside Paresh Rawwal and the late ‘Rishi Kapoor’
She was asked if her daughter wants to step into her mother’s shoe and become a leading lady just like her. Is there a Bollywood debut on the cards for Juhi and Jai Mehta’s daughter Jahnavi Mehta?
Juhi said, Right now everybody knows her interests are in cricket. So for now let that be”.
Looks like Jahnavi would rather follow her father’s footsteps and be an entrepreneur rather than be an actress like her mother.
Juhi Chawla has said in the past, when her children were little that she wanted to keep them away from the media radar. Even now when they are older, it looks like Jahnavi is different from her peer group of other star kids because her primary interest is the game of cricket, not films.
When Jahnavi participated in the IPL auctions this year, Juhi Chawla penned a warm note for her daughter. She said, “Ever since she was a little girl, Jahnavi didn’t just watch IPL, she began to watch cricket. Listening intently to the commentators, she began to understand the intricacies of the game. When cricket is discussed, her face lights up, she is happy and enthused. Her knowledge on the topic is to me, astounding. It is extremely kind of Mr. Venky Mysore, our CEO who allows her to participate in important discussions and even encourages her to voice her views”.
With the IPL season about to start, we might just get to see more of Jahnavi Mehta – we will just have to make do with seeing her in the owner’s box at cricket stadiums rather than the silver screen. At least for now!
